StaticLine

Your first jump on the Static Line Program -- your chute opens automatically. Class takes approximately 4 to 5 hours, depending on the size of the class. You jump the same day, weather permitting. If the jump cannot be made the day of training because of bad weather (high winds, low cloud ceiling, snow, rain), you can come back within 30 days at no additional charge. There will only be a short review before you make your first jump.

The class of the day, which shows up for training at 7:30 AM and starts jumping at approximately 3:00 p.m., has plane priority. Instruction covers just what you need to know -- how to exit the aircraft, how to maneuver the parachute, how to land, and what to do in the rare case of an emergency.

Starting with your second jump, a brief period of instruction is given to a student who is current. To remain current, a student must jump at least once every 30 days. A permanent record of your progress is kept at Skydive Adventure.

After two well performed jumps, you may start practice ripcord pulls. Three consecutive good practice pulls are a prerequisite for free fall. All jumps must be made within 30 days of one another. A log book may be purchased for your own personal record. Log books are needed to jump at any United States Parachute Association (USPA) drop zone.

Your first free fall is made the same day as your last practice ripcord pull. As you become proficient, you will graduate to longer free falls, you will acquire stability in free fall, learn when to leave the aircraft, the use of instruments, controlled turns and eventually loops and maneuvers.
